ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO BELONG?

If you are looking for a church home, we pray you find a place, with God's help, where you can put down spiritual roots. As we gather together weekly for worship, we are grounded in the ongoing guidance of the Holy Spirit, united in the Body of Christ through the sharing of the Eucharist, and inspired to engage in Baptismal Ministry. We strive to be a blessing to one another and the world in which we live.

BECOME A PART OF OUR FAMILY

How can one become a member?

Baptism is our entrance into God's church.  Any baptized Christian may become a member of Immanuel Episcopal Church. So, by simply indicating your intention, you may be added to our roles. If you are not baptized and would like to be, or would like to be added to our membership, contact the church office by email or phone, 802-463-3100. In our online community, on Realm, you can sign up to join Pathway to Membership and then Pathway to Ministry.  Join us on realm by registering your account today. Please contact us if you need assistance.

What is expected of members?

After baptism and membership, our members are encouraged to deepen their commitment to the ministry of all the baptized. This deepening is nurtured through four basic expectations we have of one another:

  1. Regular participation in worship and the Eucharist;

  2. Attending education classes or spirituality groups;

  3. Engaging in ministry according to our callings in our daily lives, and

  4. Annual, pledging of financial resources to support the work of the church.

How do we worship?

Education, ministry, and giving are additional ways we worship, for worship does not end on Sunday after church. To worship is to honor God with all that we have and are (Romans 12:1). Our educational goal is to renew our minds in Christ's wisdom. Just as Jesus gave of himself for all of humanity, Christians are, by definition, people who give of themselves to continue the work of salvation.

What are the opportunities of membership?

Immanuel offers many opportunities to worship, learn, minister and give. Our current events are listed in our newsletter, The Herald, and here on our website, on the News & Events page. We would be glad to welcome you into full fellowship with our community if that is your desire, and we would be happy to speak with you further about the meaning of membership at Immanuel.

"We have the gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry in ministering; The teacher, in teaching; the exhorter in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness...." (Romans 12:6-8)

By our baptism, we are called to be disciples of Christ, and as such, are called to an active ministry of service. God encourages us to use our talents and gifts in service to all.
